About Me

I was born and raised in Santa Rosa, CA. I went to school at Arizona State University and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Quantum Physics in 2009. I moved back to Santa Rosa and got a job as a Cellarmaster at a very prestigous winery. After 10 years, I decided to pursue my passion and put my degree to work. My shop is on my property here in Santa Rosa which is why I am by appointment only. It’s a historic property that was formerly Brush Elementary School from 1917-1948. I live here with my calico cat Meeka and enjoy playing music, camping, fishing, gold mining, and anything having to do with electronics and new technology.

Our (my) Story

“For me, mobility is a passion. I’ve had personal experiences in my own family that have shown me the invaluable freedom of mobility.” - Rob

North Bay Mobility was started in 2023 by me, Rob Lougee. It all started 14 years ago when my Step-Mother started losing her mobility due to Lupus. My Father and her loved to travel, but walking was impossible for her. They could not afford the large cost of a new mobility scooter. Me, having experience buying broken items and fixing them, was given the task of creating a solution as cheap as possible. I found a non-working scooter online, purchased it, and started diagnosing it. In that process I learned a LOT about the inner workings of mobility devices. Subsequently, I was able to repair the scooter and deliver it to my Step-Mother.

All I can say, is it was a life-altering gift for my father and her. Over the next several years, she ended up losing both of her legs. This left her unable to perform basic tasks around the house. Knowing my father was not capable of being a full time caregiver, I set out to find a small electric chair for indoor use. I was able to find a very small one that needed repairs. After fully refurbishing it, I delivered it to her and it completely changed their lives. She became fully independent and was able to care for herself until her passing in 2019.

After finding enjoyment in not only working on the devices, but giving people the gift of mobility, I started refurbishing them as a hobby and selling them online. Over the past 14 years I’ve given hundreds of people their mobility back.
